Bates Midweek Picnic (weather permitting)

By popular demand, Helen, Greg, or John lead a twice-weekly visit to Bates Beach for those who prefer the middle of the week. It is important that visitors always sit in the designated clothing-optional area at the western end of the beach starting at the concrete “landslide” beyond the retaining wall. Those sitting east of this spot may be ticketed.

Our leaders usually bring a stand-up sign or flag when they are there so look for it so we can sit together. During summer, there are usually about a dozen people.

Bring your own chair, pop-up, towel, food, etc.  Legally, dogs need to be on a leash despite what you may see others doing on the beach.

Be respectful of those walking past you, meaning don’t flaunt your nudity in from of non-nudists, especially families.  Deputies have the right to come down on complaints. If you decide to take a walk, only go toward the west, and bring your towel to cover up when encountering non-nudists. That is our agreement with the county.

These picnic days are subject to the weather and beach conditions, especially those early and late in the calendar, so always contact us in advance via email before you come so we can confirm the event is taking place and so we can get a headcount ahead of time.
